Born in 1962, Kennedy Musekiwa was influenced by Joseph Ndandarika, a first-generation sculptor and world-renowned master sculptor.
Initially working on exquisite small pieces, he went on to create incredible large-scale sculptures. Also a carpenter and welder, he makes his own sculpting tools, often from discarded truck parts. He also gives courses to young artists.
His work has long been exhibited in Africa, Europe, Canada and the United States, and Musekiwa is now considered to be the most recognised artist of the third generation.
